Kalamazoo/Battle Creek, Michigan – July 22, 2010 – Direct Air, an indirect air carrier based in Myrtle Beach, SC announced today it will begin providing non-stop jet service from West Palm Beach International Airport to four of its currently served cities; Kalamazoo/Battle Creek, MI Niagara Falls/Buffalo, NY; Worcester, MA;  and Rockford/Chicago, IL beginning November 18th 2010.

Flights to Kalamazoo International Airport will operate on Thursday and Sunday along with the current schedule that includes Orlando/Sanford, and Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda. Direct Air flights are public charters operated on Boeing 737-400, 150 passenger jet aircraft by Xtra Air featuring 12 First Class and 138 Coach seating.

As part of the opening celebration, Direct Air is offering West Palm Beach passengers a special introductory “$79 for 79 Hours” sale.  During this event, customers may call Direct Air reservation center or conveniently book on-line and receive a special discounted rate of $79 each way for most dates of travel into or out of West Palm Beach.  This special sales event begins with the press conference on Thursday, July 22nd and will end Monday, July 26th at midnight. Advertised airfares are one-way and include Federal Excise Tax of 7.5%.  Airfares do not include September 11th Security Fees of $2.50 per person Federal Flight Segment Taxes of $3.50 per person, Passenger Facility Charges (PFC) of up to $4.50 per person, and Convenience Fees of $10 per person per flight segment.  A flight segment is defined as one take-off and one landing.  Bookings made by visiting a Direct Air ticket counter location will not be assessed the Convenience Fee.  For Reservations made by calling 1-877-432-Direct (3473) a $2 reservation fee will apply.  Advance seat selection requires a $5 service charge per person per flight segment.  Fares are subject to availability at time of booking and are subject to change.  A standard baggage service fee will apply for carriage of all checked luggage; surcharges may apply for excess/overweight checked baggage.  See Direct Air’s Operator Participant Agreement for full disclosure.
