KALAMAZOO/BATTLE CREEK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WELCOMES
MICHIGAN AIR TOUR 2009!
Kalamazoo, Michigan – Each year the Michigan Aviation Association presents the Michigan Air Tour, a weekend long celebration of flying around the state of Michigan. Since the first Michigan Air Tour in 1929, each MAT explores different Michigan airports, focusing attention on our State’s aviation infrastructure and the economic importance of aviation to our State and our communities.
Michigan Air Tour 2009, the 80th anniversary tour, will be at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport on Friday, September 11, 2009. Airport Director Cliff Moshoginis, Aeronautics Board Chair, Gil Collver and Dave Buskirk, County Board of Commissioners Chair, will be accepting a plaque and Governor’s proclamation during the 4:00pm ceremony. The ceremony will be held at Duncan Aviation.
The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport is also celebrating its 80th anniversary as Michigan’s first municipal airport.
The public is invited to attend to view the visiting aircraft, meet the pilots and aircrews, and learn about general aviation first hand. Approximately 50 aircraft are expected to arrive.
